My name is Ana, and I was born in Barcelona, a charming, welcoming city where it's easy to get lost admiring its beauty. My mother is from Ávila, a city in central Spain known for its impressive medieval walls, its rich culture, and the impact it has had on the development of the Spanish language over the centuries. Ávila has been a historical landmark and a source of linguistic influences that have left a profound mark on the language we speak today. I believe this connection to my roots is what sparked my passion for Spanish, my mother tongue. I have always been concerned with writing and speaking correctly. I believe in its greatness and its perfect sound, the kind that inspires character.
I've always expressed myself naturally in both Spanish and Catalan, which has allowed me to grow up with two languages. I have the highest level of Catalan accreditation and I enjoy teaching it. It's a language with a special musicality and a sweet touch, full of characteristics that make it extremely interesting.
Since I was a child, languages have always been one of my great passions. In addition to Spanish and Catalan, I have always been particularly attracted to English. A few years ago, I lived for a while near London, and thanks to this language, I have had the opportunity to meet many people who have left a significant mark on my life.
My vocation for these languages led me to dedicate myself to teaching Spanish and Catalan to foreigners.
But...it wasn't always like this.
I wasn't always dedicated to language teaching. As a law graduate, my career led me to work on large projects, where I was a sales and team manager. In that role, I not only led but also dedicated a lot of time to training people, which gave me confidence and years of valuable experience.
Despite that "comfort zone," I felt like something was missing. My motivation and connection with people weren't fully realized; I felt like I wasn't reaching my full potential.
That's when I decided to redefine my direction . I made one of the most significant decisions of my life, leaving behind what I knew to explore a new horizon.
In this transformation, I discovered my true calling: language teaching . My satisfaction lies in guiding others to discover the world through Spanish and Catalan , and watching their progress. I am passionate about connecting with other cultures and learning from their experiences, stories, dreams, and challenges.
This journey has had its challenges, but every step has confirmed that it was the right decision . My extensive prior experience in training was key to this transition. To solidify my passion, I earned a Spanish teaching certificate endorsed by the prestigious Instituto Cervantes , the highest authority on our language. I also have a C2 level of Catalan , which allows me to teach both languages with a solid and in-depth foundation.
I believe that my profession allows me to project my true potential.
Currently, I thoroughly enjoy working with my students, learning from them and, of course, adapting their needs to the classes. I have always believed that each person has their own pace and learning needs.
I'm a dynamic and energetic person who enjoys what I do, and this is reflected in my classes. I'm passionate about continuing to learn every day. I regularly attend conferences to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in teaching, and I also continue to study other languages.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, decorating my house, playing the piano, reading, and exercising, especially swimming (I believe exercise is essential for a person's life. It keeps you alive and energized!). And of course... I love traveling! I believe it's a source of inspiration, the best way to learn, and to open your mind. Life is a journey, and traveling is living twice!
